01Pixel 10 Pro charger requirements

The Pixel 10 Pro charger to buy is a 30W (or higher) USB-C charger with PPS. That's the adapter Google's own spec sheet names for the phone's fastest wired charge, up to 55% in about 30 minutes.

Google doesn't put a charger in the box. You get a 1 m USB-C to USB-C cable rated for USB 2.0 data, which is fine for charging. The 4,870 mAh (typical) battery is big enough that a weak 5W or 10W adapter turns a quick top-up into an hour-long wait.

Method Max speed What you need
Wired fast charging 30W class 30W+ USB-C PD charger with PPS
Wired, charger without PPS Slower Any USB-C PD charger
Qi2 / Pixelsnap wireless 15W Qi2-certified magnetic charger
Non-certified magnetic or flat Qi pad Slower, varies Any Qi pad
Reverse wireless (Battery Share) Not available Dropped on the Pixel 10 Pro
From Google's Pixel 10 Pro spec sheet. Independent tests have measured wired peaks below the 30W rating, which is normal for Pixels.

02Wired: why 30W PPS and not just 30W

Pixels use PPS, a part of the USB Power Delivery standard that lets the phone adjust voltage in fine steps as it charges. A charger that does USB PD without PPS still works, and safely, but the phone won't hit its rated speed. The PPS explainer goes deeper.

Don't expect a big charger to change much. Reviewers have found the Pixel 10 Pro draws noticeably less than 30W for most of a charge, and Google's 55% figure is about what a good 30W PPS charger delivers. A 45W or 65W PPS charger is fine, and handy if it also runs a laptop, but it won't make this phone charge meaningfully faster.

Seeing "Charging slowly"?

Swap the cable first, then the charger. A USB-A cable, a damaged USB-C cable or a non-PPS adapter are the usual reasons. If it still crawls, our slow charging guide has the full checklist.

03Wireless: Pixelsnap and Qi2

The big change on the Pixel 10 series is Pixelsnap, Google's name for built-in Qi2 magnets. The Pixel 10 Pro is Qi2 certified at up to 15W. Only the larger Pixel 10 Pro XL supports the faster 25W Qi2 rate, so a 25W Qi2 charger is safe on the 10 Pro but won't beat 15W.

Magnetic chargers made for iPhones also attach. Apple's newer Qi2-compliant MagSafe chargers have been shown charging the Pixel 10 Pro at up to 15W. Cheaper magnetic pads that aren't Qi2 certified will hold the phone fine but may charge more slowly. More in does the Pixel 10 have MagSafe.

+Magnetic charging is great for

  • Bedside and desk stands you grab the phone from all day
  • Car mounts, where the phone can't slip off the coil
  • Snap-on power banks and wallets

–Watch out for

  • Thick or non-magnetic cases weaken the magnet hold
  • Non-certified pads may charge well below 15W
  • Wireless is always slower and warmer than a cable
Your case matters now

A plain case sits between the Pixel's magnets and the charger. Thin cases usually still hold; thick rugged ones often don't. If magnetic accessories are the plan, use a magnetic case or a slim one. See does wireless charging work through a case.

04Car, power bank and battery care

Built-in magnets make the Pixel 10 Pro an easy fit for magnetic car mounts and snap-on power banks. On a magnetic power bank you're limited by the bank's own wireless output, which is usually slower than the phone's 15W cap, and wireless charging from a bank wastes more energy as heat. For a long day, a cable from a USB-C PD power bank is the faster and more efficient option. See magnetic vs regular power banks.

In the car, use a USB-C PD port and a short USB-C cable, or a magnetic charging mount if you want the phone at eye level. Expect wireless to slow down on hot days with the phone in direct sun; Pixels reduce charging speed when they get warm.

Battery care is mostly automatic. Pixel's Adaptive Charging, in the Battery settings, slows overnight charging so the phone reaches 100% close to when you wake up. Leaving it on costs you nothing on a bedside charger. For the bigger picture, read is fast charging bad for your battery.

05Chargers that suit the Pixel 10 Pro

For most people the right kit is one wall charger with a 30W+ USB-C port and one magnetic charger where the phone lives at night. Since the Pixel 10 Pro has magnets, MagSafe-compatible stands and car mounts work without a special case.

Built-in magnets mean these attach directly. Check each listing's wattage and certification for speed.

Questions people ask

What charger does the Pixel 10 Pro need?

A USB-C charger rated 30W or more with USB PD PPS. Google says that gets the Pixel 10 Pro to about 55% in 30 minutes. Lower-watt or non-PPS chargers work safely but more slowly.

Does the Pixel 10 Pro come with a charger?

No. The box includes a 1 m USB-C to USB-C cable only. You'll need to supply your own USB-C power adapter.

Does the Pixel 10 Pro support 25W wireless charging?

No. The Pixel 10 Pro is Qi2 certified at up to 15W. The 25W Qi2 rate is limited to the Pixel 10 Pro XL in this lineup.

Can I use a MagSafe charger on a Pixel 10 Pro?

Yes. The Pixel 10 Pro has built-in magnets, so MagSafe and Qi2 chargers attach. Newer Qi2-compliant chargers can reach the phone's 15W limit; older or non-certified magnetic pads may charge more slowly.

Can the Pixel 10 Pro charge my earbuds wirelessly?

No. Battery Share, the reverse wireless charging feature on earlier Pixels, isn't available on the Pixel 10 Pro. Charge earbuds from a pad or cable instead.
