01Galaxy S26 Ultra charging specs
The Galaxy S26 Ultra's charger wattage tops out at 60W over USB-C, up from 45W on the S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra. Samsung says that gets the 5,000 mAh battery to about 75% in 30 minutes with the right adapter.
Wireless got a bigger jump: 25W, up from 15W. The catch is that the phone still has no magnets inside, so the fast wireless speed depends on a magnetic case lining the phone up on a Qi2 charger. Reverse wireless charging (Wireless PowerShare) stays at 4.5W, enough for earbuds or a watch.
| Method | Max speed | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| Wired, Super Fast Charging 3.0 | 60W | 60W+ USB PD charger with PPS, USB-C cable |
| Wired, Super Fast Charging 2.0 | 45W | 45W PPS charger (the older Samsung 45W brick) |
| Wired, basic USB PD | Lower, varies | Any USB-C PD charger without PPS |
| Wireless, Qi2 magnetic | 25W | Qi2 25W charger + magnetic case |
| Wireless, standard Qi pad | Up to 15W | Any Qi pad rated 15W |
| Wireless PowerShare (out) | 4.5W | Earbuds or watch on the phone's back |
02Which charger hits the full 60W
Wattage alone doesn't decide it. Samsung's fast charging runs on PPS (Programmable Power Supply), a part of USB Power Delivery that lets the phone ask for exact voltages in small steps. A 100W laptop charger without PPS will still charge the S26 Ultra safely, but it falls back to slower standard USB PD. Our PPS explainer covers why.
Samsung's own 60W Power Adapter (EP-T6010) ships without a cable and is the guaranteed route to Super Fast Charging 3.0. Samsung says its 3A cables are fine with it, so you don't need a special 5A cable for this phone. A 100W or 240W cable works too and gives you headroom for a laptop later.
If the phone says "Fast charging" instead of "Super fast charging" on the lock screen, open Settings > Battery > Charging settings and make sure fast charging is switched on. Then try a different cable. Our Samsung fast charging fix lists the rest.
03Is 60W worth it over your old 45W charger?
If you already own a Samsung 45W PPS charger, keep using it. The S26 Ultra will still Super Fast Charge on it, just not at the full 60W. The gap matters most in the first half hour, which is exactly when you're in a rush.
25W PPS charger
- Cheapest, smallest
- Gentler on heat
- Noticeably slower from low battery
45W PPS charger
- Super Fast Charging 2.0
- Still quick for a lunch-break top-up
- No new purchase needed
60W+ PPS charger
- Full Super Fast Charging 3.0
- About 75% in 30 minutes (Samsung's figure)
- A multi-port model can also run a laptop
Try your own numbers below. Set the charger wattage to what you own and watch how much the time to 50% changes. Past about 80%, every charger slows down to the same trickle, so a bigger brick won't shorten the last stretch.
0425W wireless charging needs a magnetic case
Samsung left Qi2 magnets out of the S26 series again. Without them, the phone behaves like any other Qi device and charges at up to 15W on a standard pad. To reach 25W you need a Qi2 25W charger and a case with a magnet ring that holds the coils in line. More on that in does Samsung have MagSafe.
Honestly, for overnight charging the speed difference is irrelevant. Where magnets pay off is a car mount or a desk stand you grab the phone from all day. A magnetic case also makes MagSafe-compatible grips, wallets and power banks stick to your Galaxy.
Add the magnet ring Samsung left out. Pick your exact model on the product page.
05Cables, car chargers and what's in the box
The S26 Ultra box has a USB-C to USB-C cable and no power adapter. Samsung upgraded the included cable to handle the faster wired speed, so it's the one to use with a new 60W brick. If you need a longer one for the couch or a second one for the car, get USB-C on both ends and a rating of 60W or more.
- At a desk: a multi-port GaN charger lets the phone and a laptop share one outlet. Read how multi-port chargers split power before you assume each port gets full wattage.
- In the car: most car chargers top out well below 60W per port. Any USB-C PD car charger will still charge quickly enough for a commute.
- Travel: one high-wattage brick plus one 100W cable replaces three chargers. See our travel charger setup.
USB-C on both ends and wattage to spare. Confirm PPS on the charger listing if 60W matters to you.
Questions people ask
What wattage charger does the Galaxy S26 Ultra need?
For full speed, a 60W or higher USB-C charger that supports USB PD with PPS. A 45W Samsung PPS charger still gives fast charging, and a 25W one works fine overnight. Smaller or non-PPS chargers are safe, just slower.
Does the Galaxy S26 Ultra come with a charger?
No. The box includes a USB-C to USB-C cable but no power adapter. Samsung sells its 60W Power Adapter separately, and that adapter doesn't include a cable either.
Can I use a 100W laptop charger on the S26 Ultra?
Yes. The phone only draws what it can handle, so a higher-watt charger is safe. To get Super Fast Charging 3.0 the laptop charger also needs PPS support. Without PPS it falls back to standard USB PD and charges more slowly.
Does the Galaxy S26 Ultra have Qi2 magnets?
No. Like the S25 series, it has no built-in magnets. It still charges on any Qi pad at up to 15W, and a magnetic case lets it use Qi2 25W chargers and magnetic mounts.
How fast does the S26 Ultra charge with 60W?
Samsung says up to about 75% in 30 minutes with a compatible 60W charger. Charging slows deliberately as the battery fills, so the final 20% takes noticeably longer.
