01Galaxy S26 charger specs at a glance
Any 25W USB-C charger with PPS is the right Galaxy S26 charger. That's the most the phone will draw by cable, and it's the same 25W Super Fast Charging the S25 had.
What changed is the battery. The S26 carries 4,300 mAh, up from 4,000 mAh on the S25. Same wattage into a bigger tank means a full charge takes a little longer than last year, but you charge less often. Wireless stays at 15W, and Wireless PowerShare still sends 4.5W to earbuds or a watch.
| Model | Battery | Wired max | Wireless max |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26 | 4,300 mAh | 25W | 15W |
| Galaxy S26+ | 4,900 mAh | 45W | 20W |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra | 5,000 mAh | 60W | 25W |
| Galaxy S25 (for comparison) | 4,000 mAh | 25W | 15W |
02One charger for the whole household
This is where most S26 owners overthink it or underbuy. If the S26 is the only Samsung in the house, a 25W PPS charger does everything. If a partner has an S26+ or S26 Ultra, it makes more sense to buy one bigger PPS charger that serves both phones at their top speed. The phone controls how much power it pulls, so a 60W brick is perfectly safe on a 25W phone. See can I use a higher-watt charger.
25W PPS
- Full speed for the S26
- Smallest and cheapest
- Slow for an S26+ or Ultra
45W PPS
- Full speed for S26 and S26+
- Fast, not full, on the Ultra
- Good laptop backup for small ultrabooks
Multi-port GaN
- Phone, tablet and laptop from one outlet
- Power is split between ports
- Check PPS on the USB-C ports
A 100W charger with three ports doesn't give each port 100W at once. With a laptop plugged in, the phone port may drop. That's fine for a 25W S26, but read how multi-port chargers split power before relying on one for two fast-charging phones.
03How long does the S26 take to charge?
Samsung charges quickly up to roughly 80%, then slows on purpose to protect the battery. Set the slider to the charger you own. You'll see that going from 15W to 25W makes a real difference to the first half hour, and going above 25W changes nothing for this phone.
Want it faster in practice? Charge with the screen off, take a thick case off if the phone feels warm, and use a USB-C to USB-C cable rather than an old USB-A one. More tips in how to make your phone charge faster.
04Wireless charging on the S26
At 15W, wireless is fine for overnight and desk top-ups, roughly in line with the S25. Because there are no magnets inside, a flat pad relies on you placing the phone dead center. A magnetic case fixes that, and it also lets the S26 use magnetic car mounts, grips and power banks.
- Basic Qi pad: works out of the box. Center the phone over the coil.
- Magnetic (Qi2 or MagSafe-compatible) charger: works with a magnetic case. The S26 still caps at 15W.
- Qi2 25W charger: safe to use, but only the S26 Ultra can take 25W. The S26 charges at its own limit.
Slim cases that keep the coil close, a magnetic option, and a 15W magnetic pad that matches the S26's limit.
05Cables and what's in the box
The S26 box includes a USB-C to USB-C cable and no adapter. That cable handles 25W comfortably. If you want a spare, a 60W or 100W USB-C cable costs barely more than a basic one and won't hold back a faster phone later. For which cable type does what, see USB-C cable types explained.
USB-C on both ends. Look for PPS on the charger's spec line for Super Fast Charging.
06Taking the S26 charger traveling
Most USB-C wall chargers are rated for 100-240V input, which means they work in almost every country with just a plug adapter. Check the small print on the brick for "Input: 100-240V" before you leave. If it's there, you don't need a voltage converter, only the right plug shape. Our international travel charging guide lists plug types by country.
For a trip, pack one multi-port USB-C charger, one USB-C to USB-C cable per device, and a power bank under 100 Wh for the plane. That covers the S26, earbuds and a tablet from a single hotel outlet. A 10,000 mAh bank refills the 4,300 mAh S26 roughly one and a half to two times by cable.
Hotel nightstand USB-A ports are usually low-power. They'll charge the S26 slowly overnight, which is fine, but use your own USB-C charger if you need a fast top-up before you head out.
Questions people ask
Is the Galaxy S26 charger 25W or 45W?
The base Galaxy S26 maxes out at 25W wired. The S26+ supports 45W and the S26 Ultra 60W. A 45W charger is safe on the S26 but won't charge it any faster than a 25W PPS one.
Does the Galaxy S26 come with a charger in the box?
No. You get a USB-C to USB-C cable only. Use any USB-C charger you own, or buy a 25W charger with USB PD PPS for Super Fast Charging.
Can I use my old Galaxy S25 charger on the S26?
Yes. If it's Samsung's 25W or 45W PPS charger, the S26 charges at its full 25W on it. Older USB-A chargers work too, but slowly.
Does the Galaxy S26 have magnets for Qi2?
No. None of the S26 models has built-in magnets. The S26 charges on any Qi pad at up to 15W, and a magnetic case lets it attach to magnetic chargers and mounts.
Why is my Galaxy S26 charging slowly?
The usual causes are a charger without PPS, a USB-A cable, heat, or using the phone heavily while it charges. Our guide to slow phone charging covers each one in order.
