01Will an S25 case fit the S26? Size by size
A Galaxy S25 case will not fit a Galaxy S26. The S26 is 2.7 mm taller and 1.2 mm wider, which is far more than any case can absorb, and its cameras sit in a new raised island. The Ultra changed size too. Only the S25+ and S26+ share the same outer dimensions.
Samsung launched the S26 series in late February 2026 with a redesigned back. Samsung calls it an "ambient island" camera design: the lenses now sit together in one raised island rather than in three separate rings on flat glass. Cases are molded tightly around the camera area, so that change alone is enough to break compatibility on most designs.

03What changed on the S26
Galaxy S26: a bigger phone
The base model grew to 149.6 × 71.7 mm while staying 7.2 mm thin. That's the biggest size change in the lineup, and it's why the base S26 is the clearest no.
Galaxy S26+: same size, new back
The S26+ lands on exactly the same 158.4 × 75.8 × 7.3 mm as the S25+. On paper that sounds like a match. In practice, the raised camera island is a different shape from the S25+'s individual rings, so cases with three small lens holes won't sit flat. A case with one large camera window has the best chance, but it was still designed around a different shape.
Galaxy S26 Ultra: thinner and slightly larger
The S26 Ultra is 163.6 × 78.1 × 7.9 mm, down from 8.2 mm deep. Small shifts in every direction add up, and the Ultra's S Pen slot and button cutouts need to be exact. If you use the S Pen a lot, our S26 Ultra S Pen case guide covers what to look for.
Like the S25, no S26 model has built-in magnets. The S26 is Qi2 Ready at up to 15W wireless, while the S26+ (20W) and S26 Ultra (25W) support Qi2.2. Either way, the magnets come from the case. More in does Samsung have MagSafe.
04Choosing your S26 case
If wireless charging matters to you, the magnet ring is the feature to prioritize. Without it, magnetic chargers slide off and Qi2 alignment doesn't happen. With it, your S26 behaves much like an iPhone with MagSafe: chargers, stands and wallets click into place.

Are Galaxy S25 and S26 cases the same?
No. The S26 is 2.7 mm taller and 1.2 mm wider than the S25, the S26 Ultra changed size in every direction, and all S26 models moved to a single camera island. Only the S26+ shares its outer dimensions with the S25+.
Will an S25+ case fit the S26+?
It will go on, because both phones measure 158.4 × 75.8 × 7.3 mm. The camera area is different, though, so most S25+ cases won't sit flat around the S26+ camera island. Use it short term and get an S26+ case.
Will an S25 Ultra case fit the S26 Ultra?
No. The S26 Ultra is 163.6 × 78.1 × 7.9 mm compared with 162.8 × 77.6 × 8.2 mm for the S25 Ultra. The buttons, S Pen opening and camera cutouts won't line up.
Does the Galaxy S26 have built-in magnets?
No. Samsung kept the magnets out of the phone and put them in cases instead. You need a magnetic case for Qi2 chargers, MagSafe-compatible wallets and magnetic grips to attach.
Can I use my S25 screen protector on the S26?
Not on the base S26 or S26 Ultra, since the phones changed size. Buy a protector listed for your exact S26 model.
