01What Galaxy Z Fold7 charger do you need?
The best Galaxy Z Fold7 charger is a USB-C Power Delivery charger with PPS that can supply at least 25W. That's the Fold7's wired ceiling, so paying extra for a 45W or 65W charger buys you nothing for this phone, unless you'll use the spare watts for a laptop or tablet.
Samsung didn't raise charging speed on the Fold7. It launched in July 2025 with the same 25W wired and 15W wireless limits as recent Folds, and a 4,400 mAh battery split across the two halves. There's no charger in the box, so you'll want one if your old brick is USB-A or slower than 25W.

02Charging speeds by charger
| Charger | Fold7 speed | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| 25W USB-C PD with PPS | Up to 25W (Super Fast Charging) | The sweet spot |
| 45W or 65W USB-C PD with PPS | Still 25W | Fine if you share it with a laptop |
| USB-C PD without PPS | Standard fast charging, below 25W | Works, slower |
| Old USB-A or 5W cube | Slow | Overnight only, at best |
| Samsung-compatible 15W wireless pad | Up to 15W | Bedside |
| Basic Qi pad | Lower than 15W | Overnight only |
| Magnetic (Qi2 or MagSafe-compatible) charger | Won't hold without a magnetic case | Needs a magnet ring or case |
PPS (Programmable Power Supply) lets the charger fine-tune voltage in small steps, which is what Samsung's Super Fast Charging relies on. Lots of USB-C chargers list it; plenty don't. Our PPS charging guide explains how to spot it.
03How long will it take?
Drop the charger slider to 15W or 10W and you'll see why an old phone brick feels painfully slow on a big foldable. Push it to 45W and nothing changes. That's the whole argument for buying a 25W PPS charger and spending the difference on a good cable or a second charger for the car.

04Turn on Super Fast Charging
If the Fold7 says "Fast charging" instead of "Super fast charging" on the lock screen, check these in order.
-
Check the setting
Open Settings > Battery > Charging settings and make sure Fast charging is on. The fast wireless charging toggle lives here too.
-
Check the charger
It needs USB-C Power Delivery with PPS and 25W or more on the port you're using. Multi-port chargers can split power, so try it with nothing else plugged in.
-
Check the cable
Use a USB-C to USB-C cable rated for at least 3A (60W). Cheap thin cables can hold the phone back.
-
Let it cool
If the phone is hot from gaming or sitting in the sun, it will charge slower until it cools down. Take it out of a thick case while charging.

05Wireless and magnetic charging on the Fold7
The Fold7 charges wirelessly at up to 15W, folded shut and face up on the pad. Getting it centered is fiddly because the coil sits behind one half of the phone. A stand with a wide charging area, or a pad with a raised lip, makes it easier.
There are no magnets built into the Fold7, so magnetic chargers, car mounts and MagSafe-compatible wallets won't stick to it on their own. You can add a magnetic ring or use a magnetic case, but check that the case is made for the Fold7 and doesn't block the hinge. Our MagSafe for Android guide explains the options.
This page covers the Fold7. Newer Folds may charge differently, so check your model's spec page or use Find My Phone to confirm what you have.
USB-C wall chargers with 25W or more, plus a Samsung-friendly wireless stand. Confirm PPS on the listing before you buy for Super Fast Charging.
06Do you even need a new charger?
Maybe not. If you already own a Samsung 25W charger from a recent Galaxy, it's a perfect match. Same for most USB-C laptop chargers that list PPS. Buy new if your current one is USB-A, rated under 20W, or doesn't mention PPS and the lock screen never shows "Super fast charging".
For the car, the same logic applies: a USB-C car charger with PD and PPS on a 25W or bigger port. Long navigation sessions with the big inner screen open drain the Fold7 faster than a regular phone, so a slow USB-A car port may only slow the drain rather than charge it. A power bank with USB-C PD output is a good backup for travel days.

Questions people ask
Is the Galaxy Z Fold7 25W or 45W?
25W. The Fold7 tops out at 25W wired, the same as the Fold6. A 45W charger is safe to use but charges it no faster.
Does the Galaxy Z Fold7 come with a charger?
No. Samsung ships it with a USB-C cable only. Any USB-C Power Delivery charger works; pick one with PPS and at least 25W for Super Fast Charging.
Can I use an iPhone charger on a Galaxy Z Fold7?
Yes, if it's USB-C. Apple's 20W adapter will charge it, but it may not support PPS, so you'll likely get the standard fast-charging rate rather than Super Fast Charging.
Does the Galaxy Z Fold7 support wireless charging?
Yes, up to 15W on a compatible fast wireless charger. It also has 4.5W reverse wireless charging for topping up earbuds or a watch from the back of the phone.
Do MagSafe chargers work with the Galaxy Z Fold7?
They can charge it, since they use Qi, but they won't stick. The Fold7 has no built-in magnets, so you need a magnetic case or adhesive ring made for it.
