01The Galaxy S25 Ultra charger you actually need
The best Galaxy S25 Ultra charger is a 45W USB-C wall charger that supports USB Power Delivery PPS, used with a 5A-rated USB-C to USB-C cable. That combination turns on Samsung's Super Fast Charging 2.0, which GSMArena lists at 65% in 30 minutes for the S25 Ultra's 5,000 mAh battery.
The key word is PPS (Programmable Power Supply). It's part of the USB Power Delivery standard, and Samsung's fast-charging modes depend on it. A charger can say "45W" or even "100W" on the front and still charge your S25 Ultra slowly if it doesn't support PPS. Look for PPS on the box, the listing or the tiny print on the charger itself. Our explainer on what PPS charging is goes deeper.
| How you charge | What the S25 Ultra shows | Max power | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 45W USB-C PD with PPS + 5A cable | Super fast charging 2.0 | 45W | Quick top-ups before you head out |
| 25W USB-C PD with PPS | Super fast charging | 25W | Everyday and overnight, less heat |
| USB-C PD without PPS | Fast charging | Noticeably lower | Works, just slower |
| Old USB-A cube | Charging | Slow | Emergencies |
| Qi2 charger + magnetic case | Fast wireless charging | 15W | Desk and nightstand |
| Basic Qi pad | Wireless charging | Often below 15W | Overnight |
| Wireless PowerShare (reverse) | - | 4.5W out | Topping up earbuds or a watch |
02How long will it take? Try your charger
The estimator below is set up for a 5,000 mAh phone like the S25 Ultra, with the phone's wired maximum at 45W. Slide the charger wattage down to 25W to see how little you give up, or switch to magnetic to compare wireless.
Notice the gap between 25W and 45W is smaller than the numbers suggest. Both stages race through the first half, and both slow down as the battery fills to protect it. If you mostly charge overnight or at your desk, a 25W PPS charger is perfectly sensible. Our 25W vs 45W Samsung charger comparison has the full breakdown.
03Do you need a 5A cable?
For 45W, the safe answer is yes. Samsung's own 45W adapter has traditionally shipped with a 5A cable, and earlier Ultras needed one to show "Super fast charging 2.0". Some reports say the S25 Ultra can get there on a standard 3A cable, but results vary. A 5A cable removes the doubt for a few dollars.
How to spot one: any USB-C to USB-C cable rated 100W or 240W is a 5A cable, because that's the only way to carry that much power. A cable rated 60W is a 3A cable. The USB-C cable in the S25 Ultra's box will do 25W charging without any trouble.
5A-rated USB-C cables, plus a multi-port GaN charger for your phone and laptop. If 45W Super Fast Charging 2.0 matters to you, confirm PPS support in the product details first.
04Wireless charging on the S25 Ultra
The S25 Ultra charges wirelessly at up to 15W. It's Qi2 Ready, which means the phone supports Qi2 but has no magnets inside. To get magnetic alignment and the full 15W from a Qi2 charger, put the phone in a magnetic case. On a bare phone or a regular case, a flat Qi pad still works, but it's easy to land off-center and charge slowly.
Wireless is the convenient option, not the fast one. A 15W magnetic charger takes noticeably longer than 25W or 45W on a cable and makes more heat. It's ideal for a desk or nightstand, where you aren't in a hurry. More on why Galaxies need a case for this in does Samsung have MagSafe.
A magnetic S25 Ultra case gives Qi2 and MagSafe-compatible chargers something to snap to.
05Not getting Super Fast Charging?
-
Check the fast charging switch
Open Settings > Battery > Charging settings (on older One UI versions it's under Battery and device care) and make sure fast charging is on.
-
Confirm PPS
Check the charger's label or listing for PPS. Without it, the phone falls back to regular fast charging.
-
Swap the cable
Try a 100W-rated USB-C to USB-C cable. A worn or 3A cable is a common reason 45W chargers stop at 25W.
-
Use the right port
On a multi-port charger, the power splits when you plug in more than one device. Use the port the maker marks as the highest-power one, with nothing else plugged in, to rule this out.
-
Let it cool
Gaming or charging in a hot car makes the phone throttle charging. Take the case off and let it cool for 10 minutes.

Questions people ask
What wattage charger does the Galaxy S25 Ultra use?
Up to 45W wired. To get it, you need a 45W USB-C charger with PPS and ideally a 5A-rated cable. A 25W PPS charger gives you Super Fast Charging at 25W. Wireless tops out at 15W.
Does the Galaxy S25 Ultra come with a charger?
No. The box includes a USB-C to USB-C cable but no power adapter, so you'll need your own USB-C charger.
Is 45W charging bad for the S25 Ultra's battery?
The phone controls how much power it takes and slows down as the battery fills and when it gets warm. If you want to be gentle on the battery, a 25W charger for overnight and 45W only when you're in a hurry is a sensible split.
Can I use a 65W or 100W laptop charger on the S25 Ultra?
Yes. The phone only draws what it can handle. If the charger supports USB PD PPS, you'll get Super Fast Charging; if not, it charges at a slower standard speed.
Does the Galaxy S25 Ultra support Qi2?
It's Qi2 Ready. It supports Qi2 charging at up to 15W, but the magnets come from a compatible magnetic case, not the phone itself.
Can I charge the S25 Ultra with an iPhone charger?
Yes, any USB-C charger will charge it. Whether you get Super Fast Charging depends on PPS support, which many chargers sold for iPhone don't list. Check the label for PPS.
