Pixel 10 Pro Fold case guide: what actually fits

Fold cases are fussier than slab-phone cases: two halves, a hinge, and on the 10 Pro Fold, a set of magnets on the back. Here's how to pick one that fits and keeps everything working.

01Pixel 10 Pro Fold case fit: the numbers

A Pixel 10 Pro Fold case has to fit one exact shape. Google's three most recent Folds share the same height, but width and thickness change every year, and the 11 Pro Fold reworked its camera bar. Cases don't carry over in either direction.

Fractions of a millimeter sound trivial, but fold cases are usually two hard shells that clip onto each half. Without a stretchy TPU edge to absorb the difference, 0.8 mm of extra width means a shell that rattles, and 0.3 mm of extra thickness means one that won't clip on at all.

02Which case style suits a Fold?

There are three common designs for book-style foldables. Each trades protection for bulk differently. Our foldable case types guide covers them in more depth.

Two-piece slim shell

Best for pocketability
  • Clips or sticks onto each half
  • Adds very little thickness
  • Hinge stays exposed
Our pick

Hinge-cover case

Best for drop protection
  • Guard slides over the hinge when folded
  • Protects the spine, a common impact point
  • A bit thicker and heavier

Folio or wallet

Best for covering the outer screen
  • Flap protects the 6.4-inch cover display
  • Room for cards
  • Bulky on a phone that's already 258 g

We'd steer most people toward a hinge-cover case. The hinge takes the hit when a closed Fold drops on its side, and foldable repairs aren't cheap. If you hate bulk, a slim two-piece shell plus a careful habit of not dropping it is a reasonable trade.

03Magnets: don't block the Pixelsnap ring

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold has Qi2 magnets built into the back, the same Pixelsnap idea as the rest of the Pixel 10 line. Bare, it snaps onto magnetic chargers, grips, wallets and car mounts. A case without magnets puts plastic between the phone's magnets and the accessory, which weakens the hold. A thick one can stop it working entirely.

  • Best: a case with its own magnet ring lined up over the phone's, often listed as Qi2 or MagSafe-compatible.
  • Fine: a thin case without magnets, if you only use flat wireless pads.
  • Avoid: thick cases or anything with a metal plate if you want magnetic charging.

With a magnetic case on, the 10 Pro Fold charges at up to 15W on a Qi2 charger. A basic non-magnetic pad is slower and harder to line up on a phone this wide. If charging acts up, our Pixel wireless charging fixes walk through it, and does the Pixel 10 have MagSafe explains Pixelsnap.

Grips on a foldable

A magnetic grip works on the outer back of the Fold, but it adds thickness to an already thick phone when closed. Snap it on when you need it, and leave it in a bag the rest of the time.

04What to check before you buy

Pixel 10 Pro Fold case checklist

The 10 Pro Fold is rated IP68, so dust and water resistance don't depend on the case. A case is about drops, scratches and keeping magnetic accessories working.

05Chargers and add-ons that pair with it

Google rates the 10 Pro Fold at 30W wired. Any USB-C Power Delivery charger with PPS at 30W or more will hit that, and a multi-port GaN brick will do it while charging a laptop or earbuds too. Questions people ask

Do Pixel 9 Pro Fold cases fit the Pixel 10 Pro Fold?

No. The 10 Pro Fold is 0.8 mm narrower and 0.3 mm thicker when folded, and its back has built-in magnets. A 9 Pro Fold case will be loose in some places and tight in others.

Will a Pixel 10 Pro Fold case fit the Pixel 11 Pro Fold?

No. The 11 Pro Fold is thinner, a little narrower and has a redesigned camera module where the lens glass protrudes and runs to the edge. Buy a case made for the 11 Pro Fold.

Does the Pixel 10 Pro Fold have magnets for MagSafe-style accessories?

Yes. It has built-in Qi2 magnets, so magnetic chargers, grips and mounts snap on. Use a case with magnets or a thin case, or the hold gets weaker.

Do I need a case for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold?

It's IP68 rated, so water and dust aren't the concern. Drops are. The hinge and the corners take most impacts, and foldable repairs are costly, so a slim case with hinge protection is worth it for most people.

How fast does the Pixel 10 Pro Fold charge?

Up to 30W wired and 15W wireless on a Qi2 magnetic charger, per Google's specs. You'll need a 30W or higher USB-C PD charger with PPS for top wired speed.
